The Story

It Started With a Photograph in Rome.

JULY 2022

Have you ever seen yourself differently because someone else saw you?

I was sitting across from my best friend, a fine glass of Prosecco in hand, when she snapped this magazine-worthy photo of me.

Don't get me wrong - I'm a confident woman - but seeing what she captured made the little girl in me look up in awe.

My name is Emi.

Today, the little girl is still proud of me.

So is the Caribbean woman who pays attention to her feelings.

I still travel. But now, you'll usually find me with a notepad and pen nearby.

I love bringing you along.

Maybe you'll become one of the people who keeps me writing.

I'm Interested in What Happens Between the Pictures.

When I look at social media, I see the beautiful side of travel: the laughter, the breathtaking destinations, the perfect outfits... I have those moments too. But I'm more focused on what happens in between those pictures:

The loneliness I didn't expect.

The happiness I thought I was supposed to feel.

The woman I wished I'd become.

The photographs

Tell you where I was.

The travel stories tell you what happened inside me.

What I'm Learning Today about
Travel and wellness

I used to think travel and wellness meant getting away from everything.

More and more, I'm learning that it can mean staying long enough to hear yourself.

There is something deeply human in our desire to anchor ourselves in something greater, purer. Let's experience some of that here, together. Not by escaping ourselves, but by being willing to face ourselves more honestly.

"à nue" means stripped bare.

Not without clothes.

Without armor.

Stay awhile.
